Password Setup
Last Updated 10 days ago

At the beginning of the year or anytime a student's iPad needs to be replaced, it is important that everyone has the same setup for remembered passwords. So here are some steps to ensure any teacher can help a student log in to their apps and accounts.

First thing is to make sure Autofill & Passwords is turned on in settings. And that "ClassLink" option is off.
Settings--->General (Left Side)--->AutoFill & Passwords (Right Side):

Next, go to Gmail and start logging in to students Google Account but don't enter credentials yet. Press "Passwords" when the keyboard pops up:

"Create New" And put in students credentials:

It will autofill the username and you can continue. Do the same steps as before for the "Single Sign-On" duo prompt.

Once that is auto-filled you can click next and then for the password screen select "Fill Password" from the prompt below (if it mentions repeated passwords just select "not now"):

This should give the iPad credentials for most of the things we need logged into on a regular basis. You can repeat these steps for any other website you want to keep credentials. If you want to see what passwords are set up, or to make sure you've gotten everything correct, there is an app called "Passwords." Here you can add and edit any saved passwords on the device.
